Corrometer - A New Visual Corrosion Indicator

ST. PAUL, MN - June 9, 2014 - WastewaterPR.com - The visually indicating corrosion sensor operates by means of an electrical resistance (ER) sensor.  The CorrometerTM visually shows customers on the spot the severity of corrosion in the location that it is placed.  Visual inspection means there is no need to send any coupons or sensors off to a lab for analysis to identify corrosion levels.

Corrometer - Copper version, activated and visually showing corrosion status

Conditions MM&D LLC from St. Paul MN has just introduced the CorrometerTM visually indicating corrosion sensor. It operates by means of an electrical resistance (ER) sensor. The CorrometerTM visually shows customers on the spot the severity of corrosion in the location that it is placed. Visual inspection means there is no need to send any coupons or sensors off to a lab for analysis to identify corrosion levels.

The CorrometerTM is used to evaluate coatings, corrosion inhibitors and assess or monitor areas of concern for potential corrosion. It is currently being used by NASA, the US Navy and the US Air Force. Corrometer's are being used in Minnesota to monitor traffic signal post corrosion on electrical wires at very busy urban locations. With the creation of the CorrometerTM, Conditions MM&D LLC has introduced a long needed, cost effective, visually quick, accurate and reliable way to verify corrosion rates or G1-3 and GX classifications per ISA 71.04-2013.
